Carlos Vives Inspires the Next Generation in Houston and Miami as Part of Goya Foods’ 90th Anniversary Celebration

As Goya Foods celebrates 90 years of serving families and communities, the company continues its tradition of giving back through its Goya Gives | Celebrating 90 Years of Goya Foods initiative. This year, Goya partnered with global music icon, philanthropist, and longtime friend of the brand Carlos Vives to bring messages of hope, culture, and inspiration to students in Miami and Houston.

Before taking the stage on his national TOUR AL SOL 2026, Vives made special appearances at schools in both cities, connecting with more than 1,100 students and encouraging them to pursue their dreams through education, creativity, and perseverance.

Vives made his first stop at Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, where nearly 900 students gathered to hear from the multi-Grammy Award-winning artist. Joined by Goya Foods executives, school leaders, faculty, and community members, Vives shared his journey and encouraged students to embrace their talents and cultural identities.

“Before a big night on stage, Carlos chose to be here—with you,” said Mayte Weitzman, Public Relations Manager of Goya Foods of Texas. “Because this—your creativity, your passion, your artistry—is where the future lives.”

The tour also included a memorable stop at St. Louis Covenant School, where 250 students welcomed the Colombian singer-songwriter for a celebration honoring Goya’s 90-year legacy of family, culture, and community. The visit highlighted the power of music to inspire young people and strengthen cultural connections.

The school visits reflected a shared commitment between Goya Foods and Carlos Vives to empower the next generation through positive experiences that build confidence, creativity, and pride in their heritage. Students were reminded that their voices, talents, and cultures matter, and that their unique gifts can make a meaningful impact in the world.

The events were part of Goya Gives, a nationwide initiative commemorating the company’s milestone anniversary through acts of service and community investment. As part of the celebration, Goya donated one million pounds of food nationwide to help combat food insecurity and presented a $50,000 donation to the Tras La Perla Foundation, founded by Carlos Vives, to support educational, cultural, and community programs for children and families.

For Goya Foods, celebrating 90 years is about more than honoring a business milestone—it’s about strengthening communities and creating opportunities for future generations.

“At Goya, we believe the most powerful moments are the ones that bring people together,” said Rafael Toro, National Director of Public Relations of Goya Foods. “Whether through food, music, or acts of giving, our goal is to create meaningful connections that uplift communities and inspire future generations.”

Through food, music, and service, Goya Foods and Carlos Vives are helping inspire young people to dream big and reach their full potential.
