For 90 years, Goya has believed that food is more than something we put on the table—it is a way to bring people together, strengthen communities and offer hope in times of need. Through Goya Gives, we have continued that mission by standing alongside families facing some of their most difficult moments.
This year, that commitment has reached communities in Venezuela and Colombia following the devastating earthquakes. Through our partnership with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), Goya has donated close to 500,000 pounds of food to help provide essential nourishment to families and individuals affected by these crises.
Working alongside GEM, the food was distributed from Goya’s Miami warehouse and delivered to communities throughout Venezuela, helping ensure that critical supplies reached people who needed them most. Just weeks later, Goya extended the help and aid to Colombia. Once again, GEM has played an important role in helping Goya move these essential food supplies to the communities and families most urgently in need.
These efforts build on Goya’s longstanding history of humanitarian support in Venezuela. Through Goya Gives, the company has provided hundreds of thousands of pounds of food to Venezuelan families during previous periods of crisis, including a 180,000-pound donation in 2019 and an additional 220,000-pound donation in 2020.
Our partnership with GEM demonstrates the power of collaboration. Goya can provide the food, but organizations like GEM help make it possible to get that food where it is needed most. Together, we can respond quickly, reach vulnerable communities and turn a donation into something much greater: a meal, a moment of comfort and a reminder that people are not alone.
