Goya Gives Day Becomes Annual Tradition

Food Donation

For the past five years, over 200 volunteers representing 20 diverse organizations come together in an extraordinary display of unity and compassion at Goya Foods’ annual Goya Gives Day, held at Goya’s headquarters in Jersey City.  Within a few impactful hours, volunteers– all united in a shared purpose: to fight hunger and uplift those in need, pack and distribute an astounding 100,000 pounds of food, helping to feed more than 16,000 families and individuals across New York and New Jersey.

Goya Foods, the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, has long upheld a powerful tradition of giving back. Goya Gives Day is a cornerstone of the company’s broader Goya Gives initiative, which spans local and global efforts to combat food insecurity, support education, and empower vulnerable communities. Through this annual Day of Giving, Goya transforms its headquarters into a hub of hope, where volunteers sort, pack, lift, and load boxes filled with nutritious Goya  staples that will sustain families for weeks to come.

Beyond the impressive numbers, the event stands as a reminder of the strength that emerges when communities work together. Smiles, laughter, teamwork, and determination prove that compassion is a universal language. Each box packed represents not just food, but dignity, care, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.

Over the years, this high-energy, mission-driven event has brought together so many community leaders, nonprofit partners, faith-based groups, and law enforcement agencies, including Jersey City Puerto Rican Heritage and Culture (Parade), WONDER GIRLS USA, the Jersey City Police Department, Blacks in Law Enforcement Serving the Community, the Muslim American Law Enforcement Association, the Hispanic American Law Enforcement Association, the Sneaker Room Foundation, and the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office. Volunteers also came from the Boy Scouts of America – Northern New Jersey Council and Explorer Scouts, Temple Rock Church in Newark, the Anibal Ramos Civic Association, the Three Kings Foundation, the NYPD Hispanic Society, the Colombian Independence Day Festival, the Newark Puerto Rican Day Parade, and more.

Goya Gives Day is more than a volunteer event — it is a celebration of solidarity, generosity, and the shared belief that no family should go hungry when a community stands united.

In celebration of Goya’s 90th anniversary, Goya Gives Day 2026 will be held on Tuesday, March 31 with a donation of 1 million pounds of food to be distributed throughout the country including New York, New Jersey, Florida, Chicago, Texas, and Los Angeles.
